Lee Kum Kee
Packaging Redesign
Lee Kum Kee is a popular brand of soy sauce commonly used by Hong Kong residents. However, its packaging design is not convenient for certain individuals, such as long-term patients and the elderly. As a result, our organization conducted multiple interviews and home visits with the target demographic to understand their specific needs, leading to the development of a new packaging design. The new design underwent several rounds of user testing and feedback gathering, allowing for iterative improvements. The design evolved from an initial set of three prototypes to the final design based on user input.

New Design
The final design took into consideration both environmental sustainability and user convenience. Through interviews, we discovered that some users preferred transferring soy sauce to another container, but the existing packaging design made it difficult for them to transfer the information from the packaging. To address this issue, we redesigned the packaging as a removable sticker, allowing for easy information transfer and promoting packaging reusability. Additionally, we utilized color coding to highlight the content's ingredients, reminding users to pay attention to their health. Furthermore, we increased the font size to enhance visibility for elderly individuals.
